I’m Lyane Pennell, an educator, entrepreneur, and community advocate based in Russell, Ontario.
My work has always lived at the intersection of people, systems, and care. I began my career in healthcare and education, where I learned how important it is to make complex information clear, practical, and human. Over the years, I have worked as a pharmacy technician, professor, researcher, curriculum developer, operations leader, and founder. Each role has shaped the way I see the world: when systems are clear, people feel more confident; when people feel supported, communities become stronger.
Today, I am the founder of HĪRĀ | A Center for Wellness, a local wellness space created to help people reconnect with themselves through evidence-informed care, reflection, rest, and meaningful community experiences. HĪRĀ reflects much of what I believe in: whole-person wellbeing, thoughtful leadership, lifelong learning, and creating spaces where people feel welcomed exactly as they are.
I am systems-minded, people-centered, and deeply rooted in local community. Whether I am building a business, designing an experience, teaching a concept, or supporting someone through uncertainty, my goal is the same: to make things clearer, kinder, and more accessible.
At my core, I believe strong communities are built through care, collaboration, and the courage to improve what is not working. My work is about creating spaces, conversations, and opportunities that help people feel informed, connected, and capable of moving forward.
